Alanna Shaikh

Alanna Shaikh holds an MPH in international health from Boston University and brings twenty years of program design, management, and assessment experience spanning the humanitarian relief and development sectors. She is particularly adept at navigating the complex relationships between local governments, implementing organizations, and bilateral funding agencies, and at communicating the corresponding implications in an accessible manner for wider audiences, including writing for UN Dispatch and TED as well as providing social media support to NGOs. Previous employers include the US State Department, USAID, Abt Associates, Project HOPE, and International Medical Corps, in addition to her ongoing role heading the TED Fellows Coaching and Mentoring Initiative.

Jessica Pickett

Jessica Pickett has fifteen years of experience bridging the academic and policy communities, including previous roles with Gavi, the Center for Global Development, ACCESS Health International, and the University of Pittsburgh. Jessica holds a PhD in managerial science and applied economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where she explored the impact of consumer information on household demand for primary care and the market for essential medical technologies in low-income settings.
